TEAM OF 24 PLAYERS READY FOR THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

After the Panama’s tournament, the roster will be reduced to 21 men in order to continue in Mexico.

Caracas (Venezuela). The National baseball selection that will participate in the World Championship of Panama (from October 1st to 15th) and the Panamerican games (from October 19th onwards) will be conform by 24 baseball players that’ll travel to Panama by the end of next week to participate in a warm-up tournament.

The team that’ll be led by Luis Sojo (a famous Venezuelan baseball player) completed 28 days of training yesterday in the city of Puerto La Cruz (Venezuela) and from Monday they’ll focus for two or three days of training in La Guaira (Venezuela) before travelling.

Venezuela was put in the Group two along with the selections of Germany, Australia, Korea, Cuba, Italy, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The first match of the world championship will be played Saturday October 2nd against Korea’s selection.

The roster of the national baseball team is the next one:

Pitchers: Luis Azócar, Gabriel Alfaro, Johnny Caraballo, Josmar Carreño, Jorge Guzmán, Édgar Martínez, Carlos Mori, Jesús Reyes, Luis Torres, Carlos Vásquez and Jesús Yépez.
Catchers: Luis Allen, Juan Aponte and Juan Fuentes.
Infielders: Oscar Angulo, Rodolfo Cardona, Dírimo Chávez, Antonio Granadillo, Saúl Torres and Wulliam Vásquez.
Outfielders: Ronald Acuña, Herbert Lara, Arturo Rivas and Jonathan Sivira.
